Dressing Like A Girly Girl
I'm not really a girly girl.
I mean, I am a girl (probably a woman, really), who likes lots of girl/woman things, but I also have an aversion to wearing anything that isn't black, slightly worn out black, or very dark blue which is probably almost black. Or stripes. Because we all need 7 identical Breton tops in our wardrobe.
So what the heck am I doing wearing this outfit!
The thing is, I'm most comfortable in a dark uniform (normally with denim thrown into the mix), but living in a hot climate has really made me question my choices. Black clothes suck up every iota of heat and I fear that I may actually combust if I continue wearing it day in, day out over here in Australia. Plus, I'm pretty sure people think I'm just in constant mourning.
So, in a bid to change it up, I just went straight to the other extreme! No half-arsing here.
Now I won't lie, this outfit makes me feel like a god-damn lady and I love it. The skirt from Pretty Little Thing is such a soft and comfortable fabric, but I recommend sizing down if you sit in the middle of sizes. I bought a size 4 after reading the measurements on their website and there's still the perfect amount of room for a pizza belly. Ideal, really.
And as for the shirt, I was a little on the fence about it (it's the frills, they intimidate me). But after spending a month shoved in the wardrobe, it's won me over and I now intend to wear it everywhere and anywhere that I won't come into contact with food or wine. It's from H&M's Conscious Collection and looks great with skirts, jeans, shorts - basically anything you wear on your bottom half (super professional fashion tips here, guys). I can't find this exact one online, but H&M have lots of frilly offerings for you to peruse and blow your paycheck on.
Can someone let me know how you actually eat/travel/live your life in white though?
I'm off to buy some stain remover...
