Why I'm Wearing Less Makeup
I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to beauty, but even I know that foundation is the saviour of all mornings and Beauty Blenders are genuinely magic.
But as much as I love wearing makeup (applied in a very amateur manner), I've become a little too dependent on it for feeling my best.
So I've set myself a challenge - no makeup unless I'm going somewhere special.
So coffee catch ups, shopping trips and brunch dates, are a lip balm only situation. Dinners, date nights and dancing, are the chance to go all out and enjoy the process of slapping on the glam. We're talking highlighter, smokey eyes and winged eyeliner which one day will be even on both eyes.
Considering this was my basic go-to look, it's going to be quite a change. Think of all the time I'll save!
Now don't get me wrong, I love how a full face of makeup can be an extension of our hair and outfit choices, and how we can create different looks depending on our mood, but I no longer want to look in the mirror and see a concealed face that I prefer to my natural one. So I'm learning to embrace my uneven skin tone, get used to my eyes without mascaraed lashes (oh hey, tiny peepers), and become 100% comfortable in my own skin.
Let the challenge begin...
